40C project

Post by Kenny » Sat Oct 13, 2012 9:12 pm

Hi all, You have a great informative site here. I have been reading for a while.
I recently bought a 1955 40C that I plan to do a working restoration on, and turn it back to green.

Just got done changing all the fluids and adjusting among other things, the engine clutch, steering clutches, and track tension.

It seems to run pretty good, I might have got lucky, had to replace the bull gear and engine on my TD15C by the time I was done with it.

what a interesting hydraulic cylinder. I cant say I have ever seen a interesting lift cylinder.

You are aware that some crawlers came in yellow? They were the industrial variety. Granted it might be worth more in green.

It is green underneath, and the dozer attachment is a Holt out of Oregon. How is your 60 coming?

mine looks to have that same blade without the brush rake and winch. Would love to add a rake to mine for some forest cleanup
