Small one wire alternator

Post by Lavoy » Wed Feb 20, 2013 8:27 pm

Here is a pic of a new small one wire alternator I have available now. Really fits well, especially under the hood of a 440ICD where a 10SI might be a tight fit. Would work on 1010/2010 or any of the two cylinders if doing a 12 volt conversion.

Hi Lavoy- what is your price on the alternator and does it come with pulley or would we need to swap pulleys?

Comes with the pulley in the pic, $125. Kind of hard to tell, it is actually smaller than it looks in the pic, about the size of a large grapefruit.

Out of curiosity only, but what famous oriental name is on the alternator. Looks a lot like the ones Ma Mopar is using now and I know they aren't built by Fiat.

Don't know, there is no name on them. The style looks familiar to me, could be the Chrysler style.

Lavoy,

Looks like a nice fit and it does make the wiring easier.
I noticed that there is not much room left for the A/C compressor?

It looks like the ND style to me, but obviously not ND brand.
Cooling style is the same as pretty much every new car out there, hasn't been external fans on some automotive alternators for years.

Subaru Justy alternators are very small as well. not sure if they have a v-belt though.
