Why turning pins and bushings is a waste of time

Here is a pic of one of a pair of 440 tracks I rebushed last week. If I had laid both of them out, almost could have made a circle. If you turn the pins and bushings in a track like this, it will get shorter, but will snake just like this one is, no change at all. On the larger crawlers, this is likely not as prevalent, and can be a good practice if done on time. BUt on these small tracks, they just don't gain a whole lot.
