just purchased a 450 don't know exact model or year

Post by dmcmillin » Sun Mar 02, 2008 4:29 pm

I just bought a 450 crawler with a manual dozer blade.
the only serial number I can find is on a metal tag riveted on the right side of the engine block
I don't know if it is the machine s/n or the engine s/n
the number reads as follows

CT 02 387236 T

any ideas???
I need to get the model and year figured out so I can get manuals and replace a few parts. This machine has been painted, and runs very well. At this point just needs some minor repair / replacement parts.

This number should be back by the seat. Maybe down by where your heels would be or inside one of the covers where the arm rest are. Numbers range from 10001- 82276 years65-69 1970 starts with102144.

I was able to go through and get the sn from the previous owner (US Army Corps. of Engineers)

turns out its a 76 450c

the machine has a 6410 dozer and I need to replace the "arms" as they are in horrible condition and I can't pin when angling the blade

Deere says they don't have any and its an obselete part, anyone know where to get them? Or shall I send the to my steel fab shop for duplication???
