JD450 Steering clutch T.O. bearing fork removal

Post by Fitter274 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:48 pm

Hi All, I'm doing a steering clutch job on my 450 loader. Since I'm in there I want to replace the ring gear quill seals. I'm trying to remove the throw out fork and shaft. I removed the set screw but can't seem to move the fork on the shaft. Any ideas? I've been soaking it with penetrating oil, thinking maybe heat. Thanks, Brian

Got IT!! It was a fight all the way to the end. Heat, a long driving bar and a big hammer. Crud built up inside and locked it up. Thanks, Brian
