555A Carrier Roller Lubrication

Post by wjptcs » Wed Jun 24, 2009 6:47 am

The manual says that to add oil to the track carrier roller, front idler and track roller I am supposed to fill a grease gun with 80/90 gear oil and add oil through the grease fitting until it comes out my oil level plug.

Is there a particular type of grease gun to use. I have asked around at some of the parts stores and they just look at me funny.

Also my lower track rollers show oil level plugs and grease fittings in the book, but I cannot find any oil level plugs on any of mine. Am I missing something ?

just use a good grease .Put a grease fitting on the plug thread and pump grease into it .This works better than you may think and works even better in deep water or dusty conditions than leaking oil seals .If you can't find any plugs then try looking on the inside some times they install backwards and don't notice anything till you need to lube the roller Digitup.
