JD350 Hard Reverser

Post by keithh » Wed Oct 07, 2009 6:20 pm

I have a 67 jd350 that we just rebuilt and I have been using it to finish landscaping. Just recently, the reverser has become very hard to shift. It seems to loosen up a little after the machine has been run for quite a while. Any ideas what may have changed to cause the reverser to become so difficult to shift? / thanks / keith

I also have a '67 350, and found that my reverser cable had rusted and broken at the lever. This is a wire sheath that snakes through the engine, by the exhaust manifold. Possible that it has dried out and needs to be lubed or replaced. When I took mine out, I hand-shifted the reverser valve and she worked fine.
