350 Cracked Block
350 Cracked Block
After completely disassembling my 350 engine (straight) for overhaul, I find that the block is cracked on either side of number two cylinder, from the top all the way down to where it opens into the crankcase. The block is very thin in these two areas. I discovered this after removing the sleeves and pressure washing the inside. Nothing to do but look for another block I guess. Any comments or incouragement appreciated. Lavoy, you wouldn't happen to have one laying around at a good price, would you?

After looking again, the crack stops just past where the sleeve seats in the block and does not extend into the main bearing journals. They are hairline cracks barely visible. Would some sort of stop leak work? Man, I'm desperate, don't have a lot of money and its too good of a tractor to salvage or part out.
