Im picking up early 1970 350 track loader. It has good tracks an the under carriage is very good I paid $ 3300 .im hopeing it will move some hard dirt an hills from my retirement acre. Ill know more about it when its delivered tomorrow . It has fuel coming from the fuel pump linkage rod. I think its no big deal.

Slow turning to the right almost none. I need to do a clutch I hope no big deal jusr finding the parts. I pulled the right final cover inspected it the bearing .race and gear good oil bath im sure or wet clutch. seral 113921T TYPE THE3D. I love the crawer. Thank you Kenp . One more thing the track adjuster may need more grease or rebuilt . Would i be better with service or parts manual?

Hi,KenP wrote:Gerald,
Sounds just like mine. Are you sure it has a dry clutch? The straight 350's (including mine) have a reverser mounted between the engine and the transmission. If it has a reverser, there will be a lever on the left side of the dash that puts it in forward, neutral, or reverse. The left pedal on the floor is used similar to a clutch but simply changes the flow of fluid in the reverser.
If the machine is not equipped with a reverser, then it has a dry master (engine) clutch.
My 68 straight 350 was reverser-less and so had a master clutch. It really didn't need a reverser as R was the same speed as 2 and, since I worked with it it most of the time in 2, I found I didn't miss the reverser.
Mine was a dozer, with a manual angle/tilt outside mounted blade. I've seen a lot of 350's equipped this way over the years. What I don't know is how common a loader equipped one without a reverser might be. I've not seen all that many 350 crawler/loaders (compared to the dozers), but I think all that I have seen had both reversers and power steering.
That makes sense to me given the weight difference between a dozer and a loader.
In fact, I wish I still had that 350. I liked using it better than I do the 420c/62. But, once dad passed on and I had two dozers and I opted to keep the 420c and let the 350 go. In hindsight, I should have sold dad's 420c and kept my 350, but the 420c had sentimental value and the 350 did not.

Kenp I got the parts for the right side steering Except for the brake band. I have the Manual from deere.com parts from broken tractor . I didn't see mc deere. My question im not seeing a seal or is it the 1 on the final drive houseing ? I cant find the gasket for the final drive houseing , I could use red or blue silicon I guess. Thank you for the help with the air filter picked up wixs at O Rilles. Thank You Kenp. I got it the oil is coming from the transmission or some one over filled the final and its over full, my guess the seal Where can I get that seal Kenp ? I hopeing for the best doohickey.KenP wrote:Gerald,
You need the Service Manual. Part Manuals are handy, but Ma Deere does a great job with their on line parts and diagrams.
The steering clutches on the straight 350 that you have should be dry. If they're wet with oil, they're ruined.
Sounds like your right brake is oil soaked so turning in that direction will be significantly affected.
In order to replace the right brake or steering clutch, the right final must come off the machine... which means removing the track, etc. Several guys here have done that job on a 350 and can help you with advice... but I think they'll all tell you its a lot of work.
Keep us informed.
Good luck.

I run my crawer three times a day. It moves alot of dirt . I can get with in inches of my new home being a ground set . It will climb right up loaded with base corse the belly dumps unload . It will take practice to learn the full protential of this machine. It wears me out the more I run it gets easier an the longer I last . The P M are vital to any machine. Thank you for all the advice , gerald
