I was reading the manual on my 450C (trying to get her started and it is COLD here in Michigan. The manual says there is a 115 volt plugin coolant heater but I can't find where it is located. Does that really exist? Anybody know where the plug would be located.
Thanks again.

coolant heater on 450C?
Phil coolant heaters are an option so if you don't have a heater tank with a electric coard or a cord or odball three prong plug in the block then you need to go to the local automotive retailer and ask for a coolant heater usually a 1000 watt tank heater or a 1000 watt in hose unit or if you have a newer series block then you can install a frost plug insert block heaterthat is 400 watt .Your crawler should take a tank heater and there are several photos and topic chats on here of instalations. The guys on here are always avalible to help you through the steps Lavoy might even have a heater unit for you if you ask him My older dozers have tank units and some of the newer blocks have frost plugs so I have installed plug heaters as they use very little hydro. And if you have a thick pocket book or you are a contractor that runs these Deeres every day you can even go to a 2500 dollar remote fuel fired up engine warm up system I have two of them and they are both on 550Js that are several months old now all you do is phone it and it tells you your temp and your settings as well as ambiant temp and when engine start up can be tempted .I dont even like running them but both opperators sit in the coffee shop and play with there cell phones and get to a warm dozer about an hour after fire up .Just stick with the tank heater as that dosn't cost you near what the remote units cost take my word for it .Digitup.
colant heater
Mine is located on the left side of the engine almost below the injector pump. I didn't find mine until I raised the loader all the way up. It uses a 5/8 hose to the block.Mounted on the frame and. From what I can find out it is 1000 watts and even at 10 degrees I wait an hour and it starts right up with a little shot of either.
