Looking for 450C ROPS

Post by BOBWOOD » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:16 am

Hello I am looking for a ROPS to fit my 1978 450C loader/backhoe. It currently has a home made canopy but I'd like to find an original. I'm a bit isolated up north in Ontario...but Minnesota or Wisconsin is close enough to drive to...or I'll just have to pay more for shipping...if anyone knows of anything please let me know. Thanks Robert

Bob as you are in Thunder bay you may have some traveling to do to get to a crawler wrecker but look around up there and be prepared to do a couple road trips in the summer .Do you want a ordinary loader ROPS or one for a back hoe attachment or they made a ROPS cab as well for your machine .I know several wreckers down here in South Western Ontario I can inquire as I am looking for parts for several Deere's right now .Digitup.

Hi Digitup thanks for the offer...Yes I would like the backhoe ROPS with the fold-over hatch if possible...I may have to head down your way this summer to pick up my son in Barrie, anyway. BOB

Brandt Tractor

I would try Brandt Tractor in Regina. They have wrecked alot of 450's in the past. It would really irritate us when they out bit you on a nice machine at auction and you knew they were going to wreck it. I picked up a 450G OROPS from them for $1,100 delivered to Edmonton. The didn't want to cut up the Enclosed ROPS that this machine came with, the enclosed just wouldn't work for our application.

Canopy's are getting hard to come buy. Anytime I sell I machine, I remove the canopy and then sell it as an extra or add it into the deal if they pay my asking price.

It's probably too far for you but I found my 450c canopy (without hoe) thru Kansas Tractor Parts , my contact is Jarrett (620) 793-7858 . I looked for a two weeks , he found me one in 2 days out of Alabama. I had it shipped to Missouri for about 150 bucks.

When I bought mine about 2 months ago he had 2 others found as well.

I highly recommend them, even though I've never met them in person.

I was just checking the part number for this canopy...I saw two different configurations with the same number. AT43162 ??? The one I need has the front rings/isolator brackets running crossways to the machine...same as the track grousers below them...and the back ring/isolator brackets go lengthwise...as I saw it explained somewhere on here...so you can attach the back ones and swing the ROPS over into place for easy installation and removal. BOB
PS: I was also checking to see if a 550 ROPS would fit on a 450 and the part number listed AT43152 for the 550...(which has been updated to AT52911)...Does anyone know what the proper numbers are as it seems a little mixed up.
