Oh too bad about your drive. Please let us know what went wrong as we are rebuilding both ours and using your pics to assist. I loved the way you blocked off the higher gears! Hope your repair is a simple one.

Hi !

here is the latest ,

mesured everything steel disk are brand new ( so size is good ) .
fiber disk where slightly used but seems that all in all together within spec , the whole assembly was a tad bit to thin, so on the last steel disk I added another old one ( not pitted or rusted) ,
and put back the last fiber disk and the pressure plate,
I know it is not the best thing to do and not the way it is suppose to be but I took a decision and I will have to live or die with it ! .

Now all is back together and seems to turn properly without the track remounted, I need to adjust de whole thing properly put back the track and do a field test , I'm crossing my fingers here but it looks good !

One thing I can say now !! I know how to un-mount and remount that final drive !!!!!!

couple of tricks I learned :

1-
align the shaft into the final drive fisrt so the part of the shaft that need to go into the pilot bearing goes in first , then secure pressure plate accordingly to the right torque , remove the shaft and insert it into the differential .

2-

bring the final drive very close the the casing put your gasket ( paste like permatex gasket) then put two long dowel pin ( threaded end ) on the two top bolt hole than two shorter ont the bottom bolt hole and insert slowly the final drive to the casing ,
this should help a lot on the alignment process .

3- make sure the brake band pin align well with the hole into the final drive .

4- do not use a impact tool to secure the bolt while inserting the final drive into the casing , this will casue the final to go too fast into the casing and not have a feeling of where it tend to bend .

5- secure your bolt equaly very slowly with a ratchet so it goes in slowly without causing a tilted entry .
