I need Help!!!! John Deere 350bb

Post by Jacobs3273 » Mon May 28, 2012 12:08 pm

Hi guys I am in need of some help I have a John Deere 350bb and I am getting fuel in the motor oil. I eliminated the fuel pump on the side of the block and went with an electric one. I also took the shaft out of the center of the injection pump and put new umbrella seals and new o rings on the shaft it was missing one of the o rings and I figured problem solved, it had to be it, well I have been running it hard clearing some land and checked the oil again and still getting fuel in the oil. ARRRGGH.

I am thinking maybe an injector now???

Don't know for sure but I need some ideas any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

How are you making the determination that you are getting fuel in the oil? An increase in oil level? When do you check it? How high does it get?

There aren't any o-rings used on that pump shaft. Vertical mount pumps get one -oring and none used on horizontal.

I'd suspect your umbrella seals. You probably flipped one over. I've seen people with years of experience flip them now and then (including me). If that injection pump is worn and has ridges worn into that bronze bushing where those umbrella seals ride- it may be near impossible to fix without putting in a new bushing. Only costs around $8.
