JD 350 track adjuster
The cylinder on the track adjuster for my 350 has a crack in it - see below.
A search of the web finds an after market replacement that looks like this;
At the base is what looks like a standard pipe plug. My question is, "How do you get grease into the cylinder to stretch the track out tight?" Has someone used one of these replacement adjusters that can tell me, OR better still take a picture of one on a machine?
Thanks,
Larry
PS
Here is an exploded assembly drawing that shows an adjuster like that in the previous photo. BUT, there are no grease fittings shown.

It is a pipe thread. On my Case 350, you screwed a grease gun directly into the cylinder. Then pump away till it got tight or your arm got tired.

I can't see the photo here at work, but the external pipe plug on most aftermarket adjusters is just a protective cover to keep dirt out. Once you unscrew the plug the standard zerk fitting to pump grease is inside.
If I get to my farm this week I will take a photo of my aftermarket adjuster.
