Supporting and Blocking

Post by stevenx40 » Thu Aug 08, 2013 7:19 am

I have a 68 JD 350 crawler and have to replace the brakes and clutches. I am assuming that you have to lift the dozer off the ground Do you put the support horses under the rear cross bar outer edges and block under the front toe hitch. If under the rear cross bar will the two bolt that go into the final be loaded making installation difficult .Is it better to remove master track pins on the ground or blocked up. Trying to get the most efficient order of steps. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Steve

You can do it on the ground, might be easier in the air a little. Driving up on a railroad tie is easier than jacking most of the time.

As Lavoy said Drive it up onto 4*4s or 6*6s that way you will have room under it to work in order to get the bolts out. have already done this 2 times.
right side clutch and then the transmission . good luck!
