something wrong with jd 350

got jd 350 crawler loader last year,worked great,put new chains,rollers,sproket.this year runs great but when you pull lever to turn left or right crawler stop moving forward and does not turn let go lever and push reverser to go in other direction it starts going forward but dont turn or move forward once lever is pull again.need help to determine problem thanks marc

in reverse does it turn at all? under heavy load straight ahead what happens does it spin the tracks?
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper

it does not turn in reverse nor does it spin the track in forward will not push anything at all when blade down,but im able to get it to move with it up

had the back end struck in pretty deep mud at camp.over tracks

looks like either your reverser has a pressure problem(hows the oil level?) OR both your steering clutches are slipping..... i would A(check oil) B do a complete ( BY THE BOOK) steering clutch/brake adjustment and see what that looks like and does then start looking at reverser is there a filter on reverser? if so when was it changed last?

there is a filter on the right side mid way of the reverser... JD# at15088 and gasket #t84543 napa crosses to a FIL1242 on the filter but that MAY not be right

sounds like you got water inside the steering clutch , i did the same thing last year and it was water that took out the steering clutch. check to see if the drain plugs are in the bottom of the drives. thats where the water would enter.

already change filter on reverser and oil level is right on only thing that i didnt do was to install new steering clutch maybe should had done that while it was all apart,guy i got it from said they were good,im new at this so took his word for it.now its 8 mile in bush at hunt camp,making working on it harder.

I had to install new steering clutches and now it works great.

was installing steering clutches a big job & what did they cost? think i may have same problem.
