In very cold weather can Hydraulic oil be diluted or what is best to use in 450 John Deere crawler?

I think they use Hygard normally. If you want something thinner, there is a Low Viscosity Hygard, or if you have the crawler near electricity, I would put an immersion or pad heater on the hyd tank.

I have a 150 watt immersion heater I am no longer going to use if you want something like that.

The 1000 watt magnetic heaters work well for me. If I throw a blanket over the tank then over night it gets nice and warm. One problem, If I plug it in with the circulating engine heater it flips the breaker. So, two separate cords. Not a big deal. I use (mag. heater) it on the winch mostly, the cable seems to pull out much better when warmed up.
