HOW much is to much? if its way to much you could hydraulic a cylinder and possibly bend a rod .... just to much it could run ape shit for a short time (hope nothing comes out the side of the block)...just a little to much and it will smoke like crazy for a short time ... let it set a day or two and the diesel should make its way past the rings and you should be good

It will probably react as it would with too much starting fluid. Things could bend or break. How hard would it be to pop out the injectors and crank it over to push out the excess diesel? gregjo1948

Hi,

Not much space between the top of the piston and the head on a diesel. I would pull the injectors and manually crank it over rather than risk a hydraulic lockup and bending rods....

Which is easier to pull, glo-plugs or injectors? I believe either would prevent hydro-lock and bent parts.

Hi,

No, the JD 3-cyl series do not have glow plugs. But, yes, if they did pulling the GPs would be a lot easier. :)

I think it could be turned over manually, stopping if there is too much resistance. If it turns completely over, I'd just bump the starter until it made a couple revs and then go for starting it. gregjo1948
