350 Track Rollers

Post by jthornton » Tue Mar 04, 2014 3:03 pm

I just got a couple of track rollers for my 350 but I don't see a place for the grease fitting and they are marked 350C... will they work and how do you grease them?

Thanks
JT

Here is a photo of the rollers. Note they do not have bolts to hold the axle in nor do they have grease fittings.

Lavoy or others can confirm, but these are likely aftermarket lifetime rollers that are permanently greased/sealed and thus have no need for a fitting to add grease or oil.

I guess if they fit I'm ok... just through me for a loop when they didn't match up.

Those are aftermarket rollers, there is a plug on one end of the axle to put oil in, but normally they are either full of oil, or junk.

There looks to be a hex plug on one end. What kind of oil should I put in them?

I believe 30wt engine oil, but could be wrong.

Would you take the plug out or just use them? They both turn and feel good to me anyway.

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing, I am new to form and have 350c 1981 also what do you do when the bolts are stripped out that hold those rollers on not much thread to start with on that rail I think we going to put longer bolts and try to reach up top hold with nut, anybody done this? I am sure I will have more to ask This where we started tonight after picking the machine up. Going thru one at time, weld hooks on the bucket for logs,Thinking about 2in strips of rebar for ice traction ,on every other cleat has, that 3grouser flat track on it. Also how about the piston that tighten tracks, it has a ring or groove on it, is that a wear indercator mark. I am about a in. out of the tube from it. This machine also does have a rev option in the shifter. but what it does is rev, the power shift lever Thanks Jeff

I have a 350B with no fittings or plugs anywhere on the rollers or shaft that I can see/feel. Can't see your picture which might tell me if my rollers are indeed, "lifetime" lubed. Could you post it again? I'd hate to kill the rollers with no lube.
Thanks

There you go, I changed the directory name a while back when I figured out I had a straight 350 not a 250B.

Thank you. Yours look to be the same. I can now work and not feel guilty of neglect. The machine is way too good to be trashing.

Might want to pull plugs out and check lube in them just a thought
