Frame break on 450 e

Post by shuman411 » Sat Jun 27, 2015 8:21 am

I recently looked at a 450 e for sale and on the right hand side above the blade raise cylinder the frame was cracked. Is this a common problem and how hard of repair is it to do. Thanks in advance

not that I know all that much, but I would think if the crack was in line and not jaunting/offset, you could grind a V at the crack and weld it. grind one inch further at the beginning of crack and fill with weld, grind weld flat with surface, check for holes, if no holes primer and paint. If there are hole, grind them out and fill in with weld.

it didn't look like that big of job but overall condition didn't warrant the asking price.
