Where did you buy your motor from?
Ive not seen very many dozers with the backhoe hooks on the back. Thats neat.
Looks like youre going thru it right the first time.

I got the motor off of ebay from government liquidation, it is not a re-furb its a re-manufactured which means basically they change all parts out with OEM john deere parts. Motor Is brand new from starter to turbo. Its rated i think right at 100 hp. But way better fuel system and 24v starter and alternator should make it easier to start. Wanting to build a foresty Cab and put limb risers and muffler riser.

This is the foresty cab that I am making for it, should have a little better paint job also. Im using carboline carbomastic 15 for primer when they are done blasting it this week. Best paint you can buy.

Are you located in Louisiana (71407)? Just curious, there might be a source in VT, but shipping might be pricey. I'll ask around. Paul

I bet it will be!
While you have it down that far, are you going to check the transmission out? It would be a shame to do all that work and have to go back in.

They went into the transmission when it was parked, I have a bill for $6400 for changing front trans case, pump, driveshaft, and setting all pressures. But like I said it sat for almost 10 years. I wonder what I need to look for in these trans??

Since no one else has chimed in, I'd think that if no water got in, the transmission should be fine. I'd check the accumulator though. Being high on the machine it may have some rust from condensation in it. It acts like a shock absorber during forward/reverse shifts and the adjustments can be finicky. Best wishes. Paul
