450c new trans

Post by ryan71407 » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:38 pm

So I bought a doZer that had a new transmission, new everything inside including clutch packs, seals driveshafts and all bearings. Parked it after that and never used it , fallout with family. Sat outside for 10 years uncovered. Drained all the fluids, probably a gallon of water came out bottom. Ran fine, changed oil and adjusted clutch lever. After that never ran the same, checked pressure with guage getting 60 psi. Where do I start to troubleshoot it. It pulled fine until they adjusted clutch now it barely goes in slow in 1 lo.

Not an expert by any means but it sure sounds like clutch is slipping. Run for a little while in 1L and check for that infamous burning clutch smell.I'd also drop the belly pan and check the weep hole right behind the engine block and see if it's clear and if not ,clear it and see if oil is running out(oil contaminated main clutch). And how did water get into tranny? Should be sealed for water contamination as it's a dozer that can be stored outside.
