Hello all, i am really pulling my hair out with this one (and ive not got much more left)...... i am needing to replace the seal on the 'transmission pump' as shown behind the cover in this picture (behind the green arrow) [img]https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/ ... 455340/img] in the manual, it hints that you can remove the shaft and throwout bearing fork without removing the bell housing, but i have tried and tried and dont see how this is possible. I need the 'fork and shaft' removed so i can get that cover off. You may ask why i dont just remove the bell housing, the reason is the bolts (well 2 of them) that hold the bell housing on are rock solid, i have tried heat, oil, extreme force, impact drive etc.
Any help would be appreciated, if anyone has removed this cover and replaced the seal without removing the bell housing i would love to hear from you. Thanks.

Re: JD450 C Bell Housing Dilema
OK, finally got the 4 large bolts undone that hold on the bell housing using heat, and a very long pry bar on the ratchet i was using. The short answer is YES you need to remove the bell housing to get into the clutch/transmission pump.
Job done.

Congratulations on your success with it. When things stay tight it is good during normal operation, but can be a real pain when you need to work on it.
