Oil pump cap screws

Post by The Jug » Wed Jun 11, 2025 3:07 pm

Kind of new at this game. What type of cap screws are used on the oil pump. Its the head type that I'm not sure of. I took a look in parts diagram Just lists as cap screws. JD 350 Engine 3152

They had no clue. Same as parts guy. But i did speak with a old timer in VT he said it was a 152 just earlier numbers as you were saying. I also spoke to a kid way up in VT who lives and breath these things and he confirmed. Kinda sad that the reps for JD can't tell you that.
The oil pump does not have slandered cap screws JD part 7 and 8. 3/4x 3.5 i believe it's not hex head or 12 star. Not sure never delt with this type before. Im thinking of just wrenching off and replacing with slandered. I just want to service oil pump.

The bolts you are referring to are a special bolt and they have a 12 point head on them. They are also what you need to use with these oil pumps. I do not recommend you going to a standard bolt.

These are cut and machined specific for use with the oil pump on these older Deere engines. You can use either a 12 point socket or a box end wrench that is 12 point to either remove or install them.
