Track Idler Roller Replacement 1974 450B
The middle idler roller that supports the top of my track is worn out. Anyone know good sources for finding a replacement? Any tricks I need to know about replacing this so I can avoid unnecessary pit falls?

Find a good John Deere Construction equipment dealer and have their parts guys look up a roller for you. Don't go to a Deere Ag dealer because they will just look at you funny. They will however be able to guide you to a good industrial dealer.
You can also check here with Lavoy who owns this site. He sells undercarriage parts and may have something. As for what to look for in changing this out? If you don't have a tech manual then I suggest you get one. It will explain the process in detail and you will know you have done this right. There are different options and again Lavoy or a good Deere dealer will help you with those.

Thank you for the tip. How does one go about contacting Lavoy? I just tried typing Lavoy into the search bar and got zero results.

How did you get along with this?
Deere, at least up here, imports most of this stuff from ITW. Relieve pressure from track adjuster for slack, an engine lift or come-along strung from the roll cage, something similar to pick the track.
Might need some heat to get the roller stand bolts out. Be prepared to drill/tap any broken ones. I retap all my holes, fill with NeverSeez. I might be the one taking this apart in another four decades.
You'll need a (probably sturdy) press to get the idler shaft out of the stand. Not bad work, have fun.
