JD 350B Fuel leaks and clutch problems

Post by de4th98 » Sun May 10, 2026 10:11 pm

2 questions. First I have a JD 350b dozer and if you are sitting in the seat on the right side by the engine there are 2 canisters, one has a pin hole in it and is constantly leaking. Does anybody know what these are and where to get new ones? I was thinking they were fuel filter canisters but couldn't find anything.

Second question i have constant clutch problems. I had recently rebuilt both final drives and both sides work fine one side is insanely tight it'll lock the track up hard and the other side is really soft. The main problem is when I'm using lets say first gear it'll be pushing fine but will randomly stop and wont move. If you mash the clutch a few times till go back to normal and push fine again, this happens once every few minutes, 4th gear is also un useable because of this. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

I am going to suggest you contact Lavoy and see if he can get you a set of manuals (Operator's, Service/Technical, and Parts) for your crawler, if you don't have them.

Those two cannisters are likely the replaceable fuel filter elements.

You say you rebuilt the final drives. Did you rebuild the final drives (gears) or the steering clutches? If it was the steering clutches, did you adjust both sides step by step in the manual? Your description sounds like some adjustment issues may be part of your problems.
