Thanks Matt and Ken for this extremely helpful information. Being completely new to heavy equipment and hydraulics I wasn't aware of the complexities involved. I'm looking forward to learning more as I work with the equipment. Though I'm hoping that it is going to just work for quite some time once I get it out of the shop.

You're right Ken, you need to know what you have before you make any changes. Nothing worse than a hydraulic fluid shower. 1500-2000psi while dangerous usually isn't too bad when something lets loose. I work a lot with 15000+psi industrial systems. If you make a mistake, you just made a bomb. Makes for a much more convincing argument to do it right.

Thanks again Ken and Matt for all the information and for the pictures Ken. I'm on vaction for a few weeks but when I get back I will let you know how things go with the backhoe. hopefully I will be able to post a picture of me using it.
