FUEL INJECTION PUMP QUESTION FOR J. DEMARIS OR ANYBODY ELSE

Post by FL450B » Thu Apr 23, 2015 4:36 pm

I HAVE A FORD A62 WHEEL LOADER WITH A 256TD MOTOR WITH A MINIMEC
FUEL INJECTION PUMP....IF I LET THE MACHINE SIT FOR A DAY OR SO, I HAVE TO RE-BLEED THE INJECTORS....CHECKED ALL INCOMING HOSES AND LINES.....THOUGHT CHECK-VALVE MAY BE THE ISSUE...REPLACED THE CHECK-VALVE.....STILL THE SAME ISSUE.......NO EXCESS FUEL IN PUMP OR CRANKCASE..............RACK MOVES FINE AND EXCESS FUEL BUTTON MOVES RACK OVER LIKE IT SHOULD........ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT.

I had a similar problem with a diesel car that I owned--got hold of a spray can of a white chalk and coated the fittings that went to the injectors--found a small leak that was not visible--tightened up connection and the problem was solved.. It acted as you said--would start fine if you ran it everyday--but would not start if it sat for several days. This was a Roosamaster type pump--your might not be the same type.

For these leaks, as mentioned a spray can of talc works great. I use athletes foot spray with the powder added, you can get it in most any store and if you have teenagers it always seems to get used instead of sitting around for years like other service chemicals.
