The Dilemma - While working on another problem today, I noticed the brake band anchor T21317 nut was loose. I thought it needed to be pretty tight, but much to my surprise the bolt appears to be some sort of cast and broke off.
My questions:
1) Can this anchor possibly be replaced from the top side of the brake housing??
2) Does anyone have one of these for sale T21317?
Thanks

I answered my own question tonight... I don't think there is any way that the brake band anchor could possibly be removed with the final drive installed. In fact, Houdini himself would probably have problems removing the anchor WITH the final removed!
I think I have recovered from this mishap. After removing the brake band anchor and inspecting it, I confirmed the material is cast iron. I decided to cut off the broken portion of the broken stud and drill and tap the shaft to 1/2" NF. This diameter left lots of wall thickness and will allow me to install a 1/2" Grade 8 Stud into the shaft. I'm certain this new set-up will be stronger than the original.
