350 CE Wide Pad Questions / With Pictures ** NEW UPDATE
Hello,
I live in Alaska and recently purchased a very remote cabin that came with a 350 CE wide pad dozer that needs help. I have looked online and checked with the local dealers trying to find parts for this machine with no luck The undercarriage is in very bad shape but I only need a few parts to get it going again and use very lightly around my cabin. The right axel is broke, I need some pads, two sprockets and rebuild or replace the track adjusters.
What does the CE stand for? I know the C is the model but cant find what the E represents.
Can anyone tell me what the year is using the serial number 241905T?
I will post some pictures and any information on this machine would be a huge help to me trying to get her going again.
Thank you for reading.

1976 http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/ ... php?t=2410 that axle is VERY pricey
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper
You MIGHT be-able to get by with just replacing the outer bearing and seal you need to pull it down and see just what is bad/missing ......I think it is JWB contracting on this site that has worked on quite a few of the wide track and might be able to tell you more just from the pics

No sense replacing sprockets, you pins and bushings are so worn, they will just likely climb the new sprockets.
The wide tread drive parts are somewhere between spendy and outrageous, and hard to find and impossible. Make sure that the crawler is worth the money it is going to cost you to fix prior to spending much money.

Lavoy,
Thank you for the reply, I know what you are saying about spending money to get this machine going. If it was something I had in town it would probably not be something I would put much time or money into, however with this being so remote and so far off the road system I know I am better off trying to find the parts to get this one going rather than getting another machine out there. Only way in is to fly or boat...The best leads I have as of now on some parts is from the local John Deere dealer but even they are not having much luck I think I can baby this old girl long enough to do light work around the cabin for a few years and get the clearing done that I would like to, if only I could find the needed parts.

JWB contracting is a frequent poster here with extensive knowledge of wide pad machines. In addition they have a large fleet of parts machines and would be good candidates to answer your questions and supply parts. They are near Edmonton Alberta so you get superior purchase power with your US dollars. Reliable Rebuilders in Salmon Arm British Columbia have some wide pad parts as well.

Thanks For The Recommendation
Darren got in contact with me today and should have everything needed to get this tractor operational so he can see if it is worth diving into the undercarriage.
My dad is finally parting with widepad parts as he is retiring from utility construction industry in a few months.

Yes I spoke Jason and was able to find all the parts needed, he also has the rest of the undercarriage should I decide to go all out with this Dozer. Thanks Jason!
Huge thanks to NWJD for reading this post and giving me the info I needed to track down Jason at JWB Contracting, also thank you to everyone else who posted on this thread.
I will either post pictures with the progress in this thread or maybe start a new one so people who are interested in old projects like this can keep up to date.
Thanks
Darren

Hi,
E meant Economy. It was a lower priced base machine at the time. Well, until options were added like your wide tracks.
It mainly meant a lower power engine vs. the 350C.
Stan
Edit:
Ok. They changed what it meant on the C vs the B. See the post below. On the B, there was an engine option where the 350B wound up with a few more ponies. Then, the original HP could be had in the BE for a few dollars less. Or, in reality, they upped the HP and the price of the B yet one could get a BE for what the B used to cost.
On the straight 350 and the 350B, one bought a crawler and then an attachment loader or bulldozer, which had their own model and serial numbers. I just carried that thinking over to the 350C, and obviously that changed.
