450 engine covers
450 engine covers
I am missing the engine covers on my 450B loader and have found a set for a 450 (no vent holes punched in them). I would like to know if they will fit and what they may be worth. Thank you

I think your two different side shields will fit. However you need to measure the bolt holes from top to bottom, center to center make sure they will line up. Also measure front to back to make sure they will fit into the slots on the nose of the machine and line up with the bolt holes at the back. There is a serial number break on these shields on the early 450's. After the serial number break I think the B models all used the same shield. You do have a right and left shield. Make sure you don't buy two of the same side. Right hand side has a door for checking your engine oil and the left side doesn't have a door. As for the holes. Not sure on that one. All I remember is some had them and some didn't. It may have been an option for warm verses cold climates. However both will work. You need to measure everything first. Front to back and top to bottom. As for what they are worth? I wouldn't have a clue. Personally I would think no more than fifty bucks for the pair. You can build your own out of flat steel. 3/16" or 5/32 thickness should fit. I think 1/4" would be too thick. Hope this helps and good luck.
