Right Track Wont Turn
Right Track Wont Turn
I have a 1970's model JD 450. The right track does not turn. I dug the bucket into the ground and lifted the front end of the crawler up. This allowed the left track to just spin while the right track did nothing. I opened the panels under the seat and nothing is turning on the right side. The clutches were replaced on the right side last year. I thought that maybe the track disengaging adjustment screw needed tweaked, but this was not the case. The track did not quite all at once. It slowly stopped working. This leads me to believe that an axle may be stripped out. Any suggestions?

I think, if the axle is "stripped out", it would have done it instantly, not gradually. I would say it's a clutch out of adjustment and/or the discs are too worn to function from slipping too long before you check what was wrong.
