I have a 450d with a 3325 winch on it and it won't free spool or pull in. I believe it low on pile but I don't know how much it hold or where to fill it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John Hubbard

The fill is a large barrel bung type plug on the top right. There is a plug on the right side of the winch, i believe the plug faces front to back. You remove this plug on the side, if fluid comes out it is full. If not, fill until it starts to run out. You may want to remove the inspection cover on the bottom right to clean the sludge out of the pickup screen and a new screw on filter

Thanks for the info. It was working good most of the day yesterday then it just up and quit. I noticed there was no oil coming out of the line between the filter and the control box. I then took the filter of and there was no oil in the filter. I'll check that stuff tomorrow

If the oil level isn't the problem, A stripped coupler on the winch drive will cause a sudden stop also.

I'll take a look at the coupler too. I was under there and it looked ok but I'll check again. Thanks

The internal splines can strip. It takes a very close look to see if the input shaft is spinning on the winch. The pick up screen plugs awful easy if the machine as not been run in awhile. Take care, Bruce

Will I be able to see the pick up screen by removing the inspection panel? Thanks again!

Yes, the pick-up screen is very fine wire mesh, about 3/4" in diameter about 2" long. It is in the most dependent part of the sump. The inspection cover is the bottom of the sump, held with 8 bolts, IIRC.
