jd350c coolant

Post by silverrex4 » Mon Mar 07, 2016 9:53 pm

I know this topic has been brought up however don't seem to get a straight anwser. What is the best coolant to use, jd antifreeze or can I use zerex go5? Got the machine last year and used very little to get familar with machine. Going to change all fluids come spring. I figure with using either of them, I don't have to worry to much with the sca concern. Any help will be appreciated

Not familiar with the Zerex product, but any ethylene glycol based antifreeze will be fine.

Ok sounds good. Zerex go5 I use in my 6.9 idi motor to help with sca problems. The 7.3 motors have a bigger problem then the 6.9 but I didn't know if the jd350c had any of those problems. Just wanted to stop any pitting in the lining walls if it was occurring.

Hi,

I have been using the Deere Cool-Gard a long time in everything. Even my 1997 PowerStroke equipped truck. Still Going. :)

Does the Deere coolant have anti-cavitation additives? I have read quite a few good things about Napa's Be Cool anti cavitation additive. Bruce

That was what I was concerned about, the zerex go5 I know has the sca additive in it cause I use it in the 6.9. I'm sure deere coolant will have it. I'll check it out and see what the labels say

Hi,

Yes, the Deere coolant has additives. Remember, many of their engines are sleeved as well. It comes concentrate or pre-mixed. Of course, it costs less to buy the concentrate and some distilled water at the grocery store.
