350 C valve adjustment

Post by donnaldp46 » Mon Mar 14, 2016 6:28 pm

I have a JD 350 C. I went to adjust the valves and there are NO set screws with lock nuts on the rocker arms above the push rods. There is a nut on the push rod below the rocker arm. Looking down into the hole in the rocker arm above the push rod it looks like a tube is threaded into the rocker arm but I see no way to adjust that. WHAT DO I HAVE???? Can and how do I adjust the valves? HELP PLEASE

Thank you

I know this is late but the nut is what you turn to adjust the valves. They are fitted in the rocker arm with a very tight fit. So it takes considerable force to turn these nuts. Sorry again for not seeing this post earlier.

Thank you. After talking and showing pictures to an older local engine machinist we concluded the same. I was able to adjust them yesterday and the tractor sounds better now

Thank you
