450 injection pump?

Post by rdobb » Thu Apr 07, 2016 11:45 am

I have a 70 450, it's a low hour machine. The guy running it said he was coming up a hill and started losing power. Eventually it just powered out and died. When I got down to it it had pushed oil out between the head and the block. Had the head redone and now it just won't start. It's getting fuel to the return lines but doesn't appear to have any pressure. I'm going to have the injectors checked, how do I check pump pressure and what should it be?

Only real way to check pump pressure is to take it to an injection shop and have it run on a test bench.
