Has anyone ever had their steering brake drums turned ? Mine are pretty rusty, but not pitted just need cleaned up a bit.
Standard brake lathe will cut them fine, but if you cut, cut the absolute minimum you can. For rust pitting, I would not even bother.

I would only cut on them if they were out of round, and then as little as possible. It won't take much gone and they won't have enough adjustment to operate.
