jd 450d will not move

Post by lugnut » Tue Jul 19, 2016 6:58 pm

I need help, dozer was running great. I went from reverse to high and it made a funny sound and hasn't moved since. I pulled the top off the transmission and nothing is moving when you start the engine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Main clutch feels good, it had never slipped.

You have the cover off the top of transmission and no shafts turn when engine is running . I have seen center of clutch break out .

Does the engine clutch and transmission hook up the same as a vehicle

With cover off clutch pedal out engine running should sling oil everywhere. Look for a small pipe plug should take allen wrench, this is were you check oil pressure . If main shaft is not turning it will not have oil pressure , main shaft also turns the transmission oil pump.

My money is on a broken HLR input shaft due to loose or broken transmission bellhousing bolts. That would also cause no function to the HLR or anything behind it while the engine is running.

That would be my guess. If the HLR is neutral and the input shaft is good with the cover off you will see the clutch drums spinning.

Hi,

All you have is engine clutch and HLR input shaft. If the HLR cover is off and engine is running and the part you can see is not spinning, you have one of those two busted.

I guess if there is a silver lining is that both the engine clutch and the HLR input shaft are in the same spot so you will find out either way.

Is there a coupler connecting the input shaft, or the HLR
