Okay, I am going to kind of take exception to this. Selling parts is what pays for this FREE board that people post on, and yet you recommend my competition to buy parts! SERIOUSLY! Add to that fact, I spend way too much time fixing problems of people that buy there stuff sometimes cheaper from the person that was mentioned above because they saved a buck, then the stuff doesn't work, and they expect me to solve the problem for them because the person they bought them from has absolutely ZERO product knowledge, and just sells part numbers. I would assume I am stating the obvious, but if this site does not generate business for me, then there is no more site. Maybe that is why some of my competitors prices may be cheaper is they offer no message board, no technical help, no product knowledge, and no one with 25 years experience at the other end of the line when they call.

Hi,

Yeah. I saw that and almost posted pretty much what Lavoy did. But, then I thought I would just leave that part up to him.

What I will add is, Lavoy is the best source for most parts. Some of these parts offered by others are just plain junk. It is a minefield out there, literally. The fact we all can get what not only fits but works well is a major asset to us all. The message board is simply icing on that cake. :)

This issue comes up from time to time (often unintentionally when someone is just trying to help).

My advice is always to contact Lavoy first. He will let you know if the part is something he doesn't carry and whether it is a Deere-only part or an aftermarket part (or no longer available which means a boneyard). I have purchased a number of parts from him over the years and have always been pleased with the parts and support.

If you are concerned about shipping, his pricing is very competitive even with the shipping included and he provides technical support after the sale as he had mentioned. As he has also mentioned, he is very selective in part suppliers because he has learned the hard way which suppliers have the good stuff and which are junk.

Ditto others' comments. I've bought used parts locally when it makes sense, but when it comes to rare or new ones, Lavoy offers quality and fairly priced replacements that will serve as well as or better than expected. Some of his competitors offer cheaper parts , but if they don't fit or are out of spec, you're the one who has to solve the additional problem. Choose carefully.

Never buy steering clutch kits off E Bay, I found out the hard way a while back.

I have bought all my parts from Lavoy over the years, good prices on parts and shipping and I didn't have to drive anywhere. Also, Message board is great source of information and I truly appreciate that.
