carb probs

350 straight... gas
tsx907

Lavoy, you have any solenoids/valve kits?

So i just rebuilt the carb on it after an engine rebuild, (i figure after rebuild i must have loosened some crap up in the trauma of it all, and the carb leaked all of the gas onto the floor, so i rebuilt it, i should have looked into it more before i ordered... no load valve/or anything to do with it)

I had some question whether the fuel shutoff solenoid was actually what i thought it was... especially since the wire was never hooked up since i bought it. But now after further research, i guess im thinking that the solenoid was converted into a failsafe putting the spring on the other side of the valve so that it would run by the previous owner. (Maybe thats why it always would give a loud pop from the exhaust when it was running... loading up from being a bit too rich?)

Havent called mother deere for their outlandish price yet... Can't seem to match up the numbers correctly to anything online, the only entries I see dont have a load valve contained in it!!!
Can i just put in a load valve like the other carbs?

Run it like it is if I can adjust the load valve in the solenoid (if that can be done?)

I have no source for it, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Seems to me the one on my 350 had been removed, and it just had a regular valve in it. Might be why it tends to run on when shut down, from what I have heard, that is the purpose of the solenoid.

After Lavoy has passed on it I will suggest you try Matt Gall at Motec Engrg & Restoration (motecengr.com), 765 963 6628, 7342 W State Rd 28, Tipton, IN 46072 for carb parts.
