To check fluid level for the reverser--is the dip stick under the right foot thru the floor board? Is it checked engine off or running? If that is the correct dip stick to use-- the level is low. Where will the fluid go to allow it to be low? This is a basket case that was apart when I purchased it so, I'm a bit lost for info for previous problems. Thanks, gregjo1948

Thanks for reply. It is low enough that it doesn't show on dip stick. Where would the fluid have gone. Besides out the front seal, could it get into the tranny?

could also be the cooler lines going from the control valve to the radiator

It is likely leaking onto the ground or into your belly pans. Top it up and keep checking under. My 350b has needed new fluid cooling lines to the rad but also has had the canister oil filter in front of the rad come loose and leak a few times.

No belly pans with it and no spot on floor. Haven't added fluid yet to dip stick mark so, maybe it's completely dry or not full enough to run out the shaft seals. I'll be adding fluid soon and fine out. gregjo1948

I have sometimes found if their are no spots on the floor it is because their is no oil in their to leak out !

Hi,

Yeah. Like British sports/race cars: If there ain't no oil under 'em, there ain't no oil in 'em! :P

I recall there are weep holes for the spaces between the cases. They have a cotter pin in the hole to wiggle to clear the dirt so they can weep....and they like to clog....
