When engaging the reverser, it jerks the machine abruptly and makes me feel something is going to snap. My 1010 engaged smoothly but firm. Is there any way to tame the engagement before I break something? Thanks, gregjo1948

There is a needle valve on the side of the accumulator housing that regulates the shift speed. Chances are that the valve needs to be adjusted. The only experience that I have is with a 450 and it has a plug on the side of the transmission case to access the valve. The valve has a slot for a screwdriver and a lock nut. Rotating the needle valve in and out will adjust the shift rate and intensity.

Its accessible from the bottom. There are 3 of them. Cant remember which is which. A manual has all of this info, they are very thorough for what you pay for one.

You will enjoy that manual. It very detailed and has a lot of pictures. A big help! I just got home from out of town, if you would like I can look in my manual and get you the procedure.

Having the procedure would be great. I could get it adjusted correctly and not worry about breaking an expensive part by its slamming into motion.
Thanks, gregjo1948

Thanks Jason. I removed the allen wrench plug and turned the adjuster with a flat head screwdriver. I think I turned it cc, if I remember correctly. I turned it a couple times to get the engagement as I wanted it.
