I've been ignoring a 4 year old problem on my John Deere 455D . How do I adjust the rear crossbar ? On both the left and right side sprockets, the inside of both sprockets is hitting against the inside edge of the track roller. In my parts manual I noticed that the brackets ( AT52179 on the left and right on the crossbar ) have a retainer ( T21230 ) and in front of each retainer it appears that there are shims ( T21231 ) installed. Is it as easy as just adding or removing these shins to center these sprockets ? And if I don't have factory shims, can I just cut pieces of sheetmetal in the same shape ?
Thanks,
Frank

I just looked thru the manual for my 450c and it does not have an adjustment procedure either. All it says it to remove it keep shims in the proper sequence and then install them back.
I guess they assume it will never need adjusted after the factory does it.
Sounds like you're on your own as far as the manual is concerned.
