I am a new 450C track loader owner and am looking to get some lubricants for stock. The manual calls for Torq-Guard Supreme oil, Hy-Guard Oil for the hydraulics.
I suspect that any quality diesel motor oil of the appropriate viscosity will be fine in the engine but am unsure what spec hydraulic oil to use for the transmission/wet clutches/ and hydraulic system. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi,
I use JD Plus 50 motor oil in all my diesel engines. That being the current name Deere has for it.
I also stick with HyGard for the trans/hyd on the newer machines.
And, the JD Corn Head grease for the rollers and idlers.

I run Rotella motor oil but I agree any quality diesel oil is fine.
I use Xtreme Tractor Hydraulic fluid for all the internals you mentioned. The specification is for a Hydraulic Oil that meets J20A and it does. It's locally available most any farm and home type store.
If you don't have the avilable just look on the back of what ever brand you have there and if it shows J20A in the spec's you're good to go.
I have a low temp service grease that I use in my rollers.

450C oil
Transmission and steering clutch housings on 450C are common oil source and use J20 spec oil. Final drives are separate from transmission and steering clutch. My 450C manual J20 here as well. On my straight 350 the service manual list J20 or 80/90 wt gear oil as acceptable for the final drives.
To me the heavy gear oil seems like the better choice in the finals as they receive the highest torque loading.
