So, what do you think, should i fix it, or spend the 9 or ten thousand up front on a much newer machine
I should be able to get my money back out of it, a wrecker wanted 300.00 for just about any part, so 2,000.00 for a parts cat with a decent undercarriage seems fair

I had the tank cleaned and lined at rad shop, all new lines, the old supply had a kink, which gave me hope for a start, but no joy

Hi,

Compare your costs to repair against $15k for a decent 350D.

Or, $30k for a ReLife C or D from Deere when they had that program a few years ago (and you had to have a C or a D to ship to Dubuque to begin with).

In other words, I pretty much say it all right there in my tag line.....

Hi,

Also....note that this topic says we have 6 pages of posts but there are only 2 pages....because long posts that dumped us into Debug Mode are being counted....multiple times each from what I can tell.

Engine

You should be able to buy a good running engine for much less than you are thinking. There is a member in Saskatoon that might sell you a donor crawler.

Do you think the undercarriage is worthy of an $8650.00 machine? Or should you consider parting it out and putting the cash towards a running dozer?

Watched an 81 450C go for $8,500.00 and an 80 350C with a hoe go for $10,500 at Ritchie bros sale in Chilliwack Bc today, even with 2 or 3 thousand freight to here...

He had posted a couple of photos with the ad, and texted me a few more. Undercarriage looked decent enough, and I thought that if it it turned out to be a dud, could always get my money back re-selling it. It took me a while to get some time to go and pick it up. The old girl has probably been sitting for at least 15 years, maybe 20. I understand it to be a 1966 Straight 350.
:)

My first post, please forgive any protocaol errors.
I have a straight 350 crawler-dozer that needs a few parts. e.g. belly guard p/n T34406 and others. I also need a cap that holds the blade suspension frame to a trunion on the dozer frame. I can't find the part number. It looks like a con rod cap, but large for a 2-3" trunion. Is anyone parting out a straight 350?
