crack between cylinder #2 & #3 on 350 engine

Post by jsal » Mon Jan 09, 2017 5:13 pm

Decided to do an in frame TLC on the motor because of low compression could spin motor with slight pressure on fan belt while rotating for Injection pump removal found that the exhaust valves were not seating good pulled pistons and liners O-rings were in very bad shape now while cleaning the block I noticed a crack
between 2&3 in the counter bore area it goes part down the machined area.
anyone had this problem on this forum would like to know .I am an experienced diesel mechanic and have never seen this on any other engines I
have worked on.
