450C Rear Crankshaft Seal Install Tool JT30042

Post by DLE55 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 10:26 pm

Hello. If anyone can help, I need the measurement of the depth of the step on the face of a JT30042 rear crankshaft seal install tool. I need to build a JT30042 seal install tool for my 1120 tractor. According to what I could find on part numbers, my 450C and 1120 tractor can use the same rear crankshaft seal. RE44574 or AR92893. This is a seal with the built in wear sleeve. It is not two separate pieces. The seal and wear sleeve must be pushed in together or it will be damaged. I do not know what the step should be from the face of the wear sleeve to the face of the seal. This is not explained very good but if anyone has a JT30042 seal install tool and could give me the depth of the step on the face, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
David Edwards

I measured the seal and built the tool out of aluminum. I did not buy my parts from John Deere. I guess I should have tried to rent the tool from them. If it does not work I will start over and try to rent the tool.
