NEED HELP JD350C TRANNY PROBLEM

Post by Pbrogdo » Tue Feb 14, 2017 4:40 pm

Good afternoon. I was working a BORROWED JD350C the other day and while working heard a POP and tractor quit moving. Engine still runs but no forward or reverse. Suspect output shaft broken. I am all ears as to how to go about making this repair. I am an experienced mechanic. Pull engine, go at it from the rear?

JD350C Tranny

Post by Pbrogdo » Tue Feb 14, 2017 4:57 pm

I heard the engine has to come out to get to the tranny. I have also heard that I can get to it from the rear. I will also need a good manual, if anyone knows where I can get a good one or download a good one I would be grateful I am brand new to this forum and joined looking for help. All assistance will be appreciated. Pbrogdo

Others will weigh in, but I suspect the isolator between the engine and reverser. To access, you pull the engine. Start here by searching this problem. Good luck. Paul

their is a splined coupling connecting the reverser to the transmission that is most likely worn out had the problem on my 350 better to go in from front less
to take apart.

Hi,

My thinking would say 50/50 chance it is the isolator or the coupler. Big help there, eh?

If it is the isolator, then there would be no reverser operation. So, check that first.

In either case, you begin at the nose and work your way aft. These things are put together from the rear forward....

Thank you for the head start. Now I just need a good manual. These manuals are expensive

The manual you need is TM1115 available down loadable from JD.com still

pricey Try Jenn Sales .I am assembling my 350 after replacing a leaking seal and a bad

coupling ended up drilling coupling and shafts with carbide drills and installed

5/16" roll pins to eliminate any more problems second time for me on

disassembly. you really do not need a manual if you do not need to get inside

the reverser it is just a matter of pulling it apart
