3315 winch rebuild
3315 winch rebuild
I believe I am supposed to pack the large left quill bearing and the needle bearing on the left in winch grease? Correct? No bearings get packed on the right? Also, what is and where can i get winch grease? Thank you. Bruce
I think the service manual has you pack both drum bearings, however the left side is more critical as it does not run in oil like the left side. I think any decent high temp ep grease should work as "winch grease" is NLA from Deere. I think the main thing they worry about is the grease melting and ruining the clutch facings.
I have just found out the little webster pump in my 3315 winch is worn out. I checked with Murphy Tractor and some internal parts are available. Unfortunately, a couple of the critical seals are not available, not on a dealer locate not at vintage parts. Does anyone know what model/series the webster pump is? There are no marks on the pump other than the makers name- webster. Are these rebuildable? Does anyone have a lead on new replacement, NOS, or other
As long as you have no gear/housing damage the pump is rebuildable. Problem is that is what tends to get damaged if they pump a bunch of cruddy oil. And as you said, the seals are NLA .The "good" news is complete pumps are actually still available from Deere. Depending on winch s/n there are 2 different pumps , but both are over $900 If you have any local hydraulic places nearby they should be able to dig up something much more reasonable.
