350C engine

Post by Calgary Glenn » Sun Apr 09, 2017 12:14 pm

I am stumped. I was working with my 350 and all was well, I shut down for a break and it will not turn over. The engine is stuck tight. I took of hyd pump and tried to turn with pipe wrench and it will not budge.
There is no coolant in oil. it did not overheat, the oil level is up and it did not loose oil pressure.
No bangs or rattles, I was starting and stopping all day and it was fine. The starter is OK I thought the starter went out and I replaced it thinking that was the problem.
Any ideas would sure help! Thanks

Is it somehow still in a gear?

Pull your starter and see if you can bar the engine over on the flywheel. My guess is your drive unit (rattler) has come apart and jammed your flywheel.

If it is the isolator spring jammed in the flywheel just get Lavoys kit and do-away with the springs!

are you jammed in both forward and reverse rotation?
as already said sounds like when you shut it off and the engine slowed down the isolator came apart and jammed her up tight.
sometimes they make a loud bang and come apart, I find most times as the engine comes to a stop after you shut it off it falls apart and jams without much noise if any.
it is a very common failure
